Cottage Point Inn - Nutty Mushrooms with Charming View

It’s nearly the end of the year and I finally have time to blog after finishing all my exams. Let me start with this tranquil place near Central Coast – Cottage Point Inn.

We started off lunch with sourdough with nutty pumpkin dip, butter and of course a glass of pinot noir.

Local Grown Mushroom with Roasted Hazelnuts, Shallots,
Coffee & Brown Butter Sabayon $28
The waitstaff showed us the variety of raw mushrooms before they were cooked together with the delicious brown butter sabayon. It tasted as beautiful as it sounds and with the crunchy fragranced hazelnut, it’s just perfect. 

Moreton Bay Bug with Citrus & Fennel and Lemon Hollandaise $38
The bug was so delicately prepared, I didn’t want to cut it! It was freshly sweet and the slightly tangy salad goes well with it. 

We happily enjoyed our entrees with the peaceful view and watched people arrive on a seaplane.

Port Lincoln Spanish Mackerel with Braised Endive,
Capers, Smoked Parmesan and Noilly Prat Sauce $45
The boy and I both opted for seafood for mains, his mackerel was nicely cooked but it’s the endives covered with smoked parmesan that won my heart!

Cod with Young Onion & Garlic wrapped in Lettuce,
Star Anise & Lime Jus $45
My cod was as well-cooked as the mackerel, there’s a parcel of garlic hidden under the lettuce which was a tad too strong for my liking.

I don’t mind this spectacular surrounding for lunch everyday!

Note: Parking there is not the best but there will always be parking a bit further up the hill from the restaurant.
