Cafe Claire - Annandale

New café with great food and smooth soy piccolo = perfect weekend brunch.

Lil' rant: Lately whenever I go to a new café to have coffee, my soy piccolo is served curdled. Some baristas will remake it again and it’s perfect, some struggle and end up refunding the money and some tells me that’s how soy milk is (what!?).

So whenever a new café serves me silky coffee, I commend them! And Café Claire also has the prettiest cups and plates.

Chicken, avocado and lettuce sandwich with poached egg $12

Their menu is quite simple with basic breakfast items and sandwich/wraps for lunch. The chicken was nicely seasoned completed with an oozing egg.

Triple mushroom sandwich with truffle oil and poached egg $16

I could smell the delicious truffle oil as soon as this was placed in front of me! The variety of mushrooms (oyster, shiitake & button) was very delightful. Not usually a sandwich girl but this was good and I’ll actually come back for it!

Rose wholemeal pancake with walnuts, maple syrup, caramel and mixed berries $16

This sounded too good not to try before leaving! The pancake tasted healthy with a hint of rosewater. The fresh berries and crunchy walnuts were a match with the pancakes.

This little café’s attention to detail and their friendly staff made my weekend! Needless to say, this was a perfect weekend brunch, can’t wait to go back.
